While you are right to say I put a lot of myself into it...I really did, so I am glad you can see it (this one was a good month in process).

Ah you are right about the feelings. I keep thinking I was anticipating or looking into the future with this one (the reason for the horizon type beginning), but knowing life was going to be crazy...is this about what is to come? So do you think I am showing I intend to be protective of myself while all of this wild life is going to be happening around me...creating my cocoon there in the middle of it all? Yes, I am thinking you just might be seeing right through me here with this painting!

You are so good at pulling out of me just what it is my insides are expressing!

Thank You So Much, Andrea!

Love,

KimAndrea and Kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15337904921232330088noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5241393111022392313.post-17825612204968414332009-02-16T10:08:00.000-05:002009-02-16T10:08:00.000-05:00Came back to look at this some more cause I love i...Came back to look at this some more cause I love it so much.
And it's such a great visual example for what you are describing in today's post, about the artist putting so much of him/herself into the artwork.

Here is such crazy movement, I can feel the boiling and agitated atmosphere, spiky fire, and then there is the lifesaving, calm, and steady thread through it, keeping a general direction in mind and a little space around it which keeps it an inch or so away from the exterior agitation...
I love to expore your paintings
AndreaAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12602563148936673366noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5241393111022392313.post-82164021004836077332009-02-11T10:20:00.000-05:002009-02-11T10:20:00.000-05:00Mary Ann, thank you for your kind words about this...Mary Ann, thank you for your kind words about this painting.

I am glad you found courage in this painting....I am eager to see what your courage decides to do.

Love,

KimAndrea and Kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15337904921232330088noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5241393111022392313.post-54681973841668361722009-02-10T21:04:00.000-05:002009-02-10T21:04:00.000-05:00I like this one very much...the colors and the spl...I like this one very much...the colors and the splashes really do touch my heart...a concert, yes! A vibrant painting and one of my favorites of yours. So exciting you are trying a color that is unusual to you. I think it is good to explore colors we are not ordinarily drawn to. Orange, to me a lower chakra color maybe to balance all the higher chakra blues/purples you prefer. So glad you are back working again.sukipoethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09351851210507048174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5241393111022392313.post-56791592764098935102009-02-09T12:59:00.000-05:002009-02-09T12:59:00.000-05:00What a brightly powerful piece, Kim. I am very drawn to the cooler side of the wheel. If I choose reds, they are cooler, if I choose greens they are cooler. So I think this is a great deal of what I am dealing with. It is good for me, but something which is a challenge. I think a great deal of it comes from my background in interior design where we often choose colors which "look good" on the clients. These colors I am comfortable with are also the colors I wear...orange is clearly not a color I would be comfortable wearing :). This is good to contemplate.

Oh, I am really looking forward to seeing your new work...this will be great fun!

Thanks for stopping by and have a Delightful Day!

Love,

KimAndrea and Kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15337904921232330088noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5241393111022392313.post-68689533722470781152009-02-09T10:06:00.000-05:002009-02-09T10:06:00.000-05:00This new piece is very dynamic- really like the en...This new piece is very dynamic- really like the energy. I find it interesting that you are having this dialogue with Orange. . . my favorite color and one that I paint with often. Since I don't know that much about your work, I wonder why this color is challenging you? What makes it feel like stepping out of the box for you?
Thanks for sharing your new work and your thoughts about it.
