A Winter Wonderland

Okay! So I just couldn't resist sharing these I snapped off this morning. We did get more snow than the forcast indicated for the Washington, DC area! But, oh! What a beautiful sight to wake to. The photo in the upper right tells quite a story, I think...look at all the leaves on the oak tree! What a lovely, early snow. A true winter wonderland! And a great inspiration. Thanks for visiting.

Absolutely magical Kim!
We're supposed to have 2 days of ice pellets coming,,,I'd rather have the snow!

Oh Babs, I remember those ice pellets when we lived in Ponca City. Do be careful and have all of your back up things in place...lots of art supplies and lots of tea (or coffee or whatever you like to drink when it is cold outside). Hopefully you can just stay put, too. I am like you, I would much rather have the snow than the ice! But hang in there, my guess is you will have more snow that we will have by winter's end. What I remember about the snow in Oklahoma was the wind which came along with it! Wow! Do you get that in the City, too?

Let me know you are safe after the ice, okay?

Kim, they're now saying the storm is so slow moving that it won't be here until early next week.Hope that doesn't mean it will remain slow moving & we get really dumped on! Oh yes,,,,,,,that Oklahoma wind! We often have blizzard conditions with very little snow!
Thankfully, I'll be able to hunker down and stay inside. Made the haul to the market today to stock up, as did everyone else within a hundred miles!
:-)

Oh Gee Babs! Well, at least you get to have a chance to get what you need. I remember power going out during those storms, too. All that ice on power lines, etc. I do hope it doesn't mean you get more ice than origionally thought. But being able to stay inside and enjoy the views will make it all the better. I bet it was a long day...guess you have all the art supplies, holiday wrapping paper, etc. you will need, too. You probably have enough to keep you going there for weeks! When we lived in Montana, people would come into Billings and buy 3 months or more of supplies, really. At least you don't have to do that!

What gorgeous photos!! If you're up near Washington DC that's only about a 2 hour drive north of us, but we didn't get any of that pretty snow. We did get a few flurries one morning which didn't last but a few hours. Yep, I agree that ice is much worse, especially when the electricity goes out!

Hi Lynette, Thank you for the photo kudos. It is strange how that snow went. Some of my family is about 2 hours SW of here and they didn't get any of it either! Of course it didn't last long...only about a day or so. Maybe we will get some more this winter. I love to hang out inside and paint or read when it is snowing.
