This is a small little piece I did a while back. I think it is like 3" x 5". I sometimes buy these little canvases to experiment with and sometimes they are worth showing you. It is acrylic with the pearl powder. It is fun and I enjoy the process of these little bits.
I believe things are really busy for everyone. I know they are for me to be sure. I am enjoying time in the studio creating some new pieces and that is absolutely so much fun. I keep wondering if there is a way to source FW Pearlescent Inks by the gallon. :)
Once I get the newly created watermark to merge with the photo of my paintings, I will have some new things to share with you! Until then, you are going to keep getting these bits. I am crap with the computer and feel proud of myself for getting the watermark created...now, to work out getting the darn thing to apply! If anyone is a wiz (I use a PC, not Mac) with Photoshop Elements, I would love to pick your brain.
I hope everyone has a great, creative weekend!

Hi Sabi,
I think everyone has been very busy lately! I know I have, too.
Thanks for your kind word about my painting.
Have a nice weekend!
Love,
Kim
Dear Kim, this painting is lovely, shame it is so small! What do you do with these small works, besides experiment on them?
I hope you get your watermark sorted out. I don't have Photoshop, is it worth getting? Sorry I can't help.
Hello Dianne,
These things usually find a home on a little strip of wall between door jambs or something, if I like how they have turned out. Then sometimes people like them, so I will give them away, too. It really depends. Usually there are not so many hanging around.
You know I like the professional look of things and the ability to tweak with Photoshop. Some applications are easy...and watermarking is also for the logical brains among us...I just think I have an aversion to some software and psyche myself out before I begin. You would probably do great with it! You remember how I was when blogger was giving me such a hard time. :)
Thanks Dianne...
Love,
Kim
Kim, when I first glanced at that image, I pictured this BIG canvas. You've packed some power into those modest dimensions.
As to watermark advice, I work on a Mac, but I don't know how to make a watermark on a Mac OR a PC.
Thanks San! I have some wallop in size large to share soon. I promise I will get this task done, so I can share these here. It is just difficult to get my brain to work logically on a consistent basis! LOL
Have a Great Weekend!
Love,
Kim
i popped over from cynthia's and strangely, i have just discovered these pearly shimmering powders by the same company....and I bought a pearly one and a purple one , that is gorgeous with interference blue and violet acrylic!!
I don't usually make small because, like you mentioned, I end up regretting it's too small...I usually take a mid-range size or more likely, whatever i have laying around the studio....sorry i can't help you with the watermark and don't bother with them...so far, fingers crossed....no problems....now i have gotten complacent about it but still haven't ever had one problem with my art being taken from my blog and if i just don't know it, well, what i don't know can't hurt me!! ;)
loved your art here! i welcome you to my blog sometime...i am delving into collage and making a royal, lovely mess!
i meant to say , about people taking art from blogs, i do use a creative commons license, unported as well as copyscape which says it will detect anything taken from my pages....i have doubted anyone actually reads this all but maybe they do....you might consider posting this on your blog.
blessings...
This is beautiful! I love that you put them in the little spots near door jams, etc. Only a creative person would think of that!
I've awarded you the Kreativ Blog Award... check out my blog to see.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
i really esp love the upper right hand corner of this which looks like light shining on water, no easy things to image. good thing to be busy i guess. cannot help w/watermark. sorry. be well, suki
I see wonderful morning light...amazing in such a small area! Glad your busy...I'm busy framing...not my favorite but needs to be done.
Enjoy your Spring days!
i see the sky sparkly with stars, isn't art so great, we all see different things.
Lovely soft color! So much gentleness here, Kim. <3
Thank you so much, Linda, for all of your thoughts and insights about the watermarking and lack of it as well as the creative licensing business. While I have a copyright notice here, I have had an entire post lifted which included art. It was rather annoying.
I know my work cannot be duplicated by another artists...there are too many subtle parts which one cannot even see with the computer...I also am not interested in seeing a part or all of any of my work printed anywhere I don't know about. I am glad they like it, but I am also worthy of payment or acknowledgment of my work. Therefore, the watermark is becoming important to me.
Now, let me get this straight. You are blending inference paint with pearl? That sounds intense and incredibly interesting. I have not thought of mixing these reflective paints before. Mmmm, I will be over to your blog to see how this is working out for you.
I love working large and absolutely prefer large...if I could paint larger, I sure would, but I have limited space. The small bits are just that...bits for working out techniques, seeing how materials will respond to each other, and sometimes just cleaning up unused paint. :)
I am glad you came this way and look forward to visiting with you again!
Love,
Kim
Wow, thanks Michele for the award and kind words, too! I am truly honored!
Well, here is the thing...I have canvases coming out of my ears here...well, they are actually pushing out the door! I have to find little places for the tiny canvases or they will get lost in the maze! LOL I need to hang some more work on the walls here. I think I am waiting to paint some rooms. Of course that kind of painting isn't so much fun, is it?
Thanks Michele!

Kim
Hello Sweet Suki!
I have missed you but imagine you are very busy, too.
Thanks for your kind words about this little bit...you always find some really interesting little bit about things. I love that. Your insights are so wonderful...and extremely kind!
Thanks Suki!

Hello Mary Ann!
Framing! ARGH! I don't envy you, but you are right sometimes it has to be done.
Thanks so much for your very kind words.

Kim
Hi Soul,
I think the best thing about art is the emotion washes over you when you can feel the soul in a piece! That is my favorite part! :) I am afraid I do not seem images the same way as many people. Sometimes I find that sad and other times I am very happy about it. I suppose it is all the way the brain does it job for different people. I think that is what is so great about blogging...you can get all these wonderful insights from others.
Thanks Soul!
Love,
Kim
Thank you so much, Cynthia! Soft and Gentle...I love those words to describe this!
Thanks so much, Cynthia!

Kim
It brings so very much light into the painting, the pearlescent inks, I like the way the set of the other colors here in your little painting, and how everything mixes and fuses!
Very tempting, those inks:)
If I hadn't just purchased a big set of new fat pastels, yummy;), I'd go and get myself some of this pearlyjammy ink...
love
Andrea
Hi Andrea, well you can buy this ink one bottle at a time, too. :) On the other hand, those very yummy pastels sound super nice!
You know the blending and melding of these inks really makes the process so appealing. I find I can't stop myself.
I am truly enjoying working with them...I just need a supply which is provides the ink in greater quantity! LOL
Thanks Andrea!
Love,
Kim
Hi Kim,
I use the full version of Photoshop. Not sure what features are available in Photoshop Elements.
1. Open the photo file of the painting.
2. On the Layer Palette: type the text for my watermark on a new layer above the painting photo layer.
3. Adjust the opacity of the text layer to about 30 or 40%
4. Flatten and save as a jpg.
Oh Chewy, thank you so much! I am going to give this a try tomorrow to see if any of this makes sense to me! Of course, if anyone would know how to do this it would be you!
Thank you so much!
Love,
Kim
Hi Kim!
Did you manage with the watermark.
I do mine with Coral Paint Shop Pro.
I would love to make you one.
Does your program has the function of tubes?
Please let me know I would love to help but my knowledge is limited.........
This is a lovely piece with the pearlpowder! Have never heard of it I will keep my eyes open....
have a nice weekend Kim!
Thanks Marianne,
No it doesn't have the function of tubes. I have been nutty here lately and have only worked on it a little bit...and am still working. I will get there, though.
I hope to have some time tomorrow and next week, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.
Thanks so much, Marianne! Part of the problem is I really do not like spending more time in front of the computer than I need to spend, too.
I hope all is well with you!
Love,
Kim
