All Kinds of Sharing!

On Friday I received a lovely package in the mail. This is what was in it:
I think it is so beautiful. I ordered this beautiful Rainbow Stick from Kate who does beautiful stained glass work. I love the way she has worked in the wire to make this so interesting and tie in all of the parts. As someone who has done stained glass (and loved it), I can say her metal work is really wonderful and very cool!
I wanted to show you a detail here. Since it is already hanging, getting the light just right was a challenge. But it looks so good. I also think it is working as we are about to get some storms here. :) Thanks Kate!

Also, Lady San has bestowed awards like crazy lately and I have been one of the recipients. She is so good to me! Now isn't this just the dearest little one? So here it is for you, my dear readers! I love reading your blogs and if San did not already share this with you, go ahead take this one for yourself.
And San also gave this award to the same people. I love this one so much! It reminds me of Babs...although it was shared by San. Please, do take this one as the message is fantastic!
I am posting here a bit early today as tomorrow is going to be crazy busy. And by mid-week, I hope to have my interview with Lesley McIver ready to post! It is almost there! So do not hesitate to pop back in and read all about Lesley and her work. She is amazing!

So everyone have a beautiful Sunday and know this is going to be a Fantastic Week!

Thank You, San! I am still trying to find out just what it is that I do here to make this interesting to people. :) Maybe I am trying to over-analyze or something, but I have been trying to figure that out. It sure isn't as though I share a great deal of personal stuff or bring in a lot of my outside of art life (aside from the wildlife, I suppose). But I am glad you enjoy it, because I find great joy in visiting the blogs of others. :)

It is always a joy, San, to read your comments...I devour each one! Well, along with your blog, that is! :)

Hi Kim,

What a beautiful rainbow stick! As you say, the wirework is integral to the strength of the design. I just love it!

I hope the storm doesnt upset your beautiful garden wildlife.

Arohanui,

Lesley.

Kim~Thank you so much for the lovely compliments. I'm so glad you like it. Sorry I'm late responding, but life here is very busy, also.

Kim, I have a number of copies of the books, but they are in storage. except for these two I photographed which are the first book and the third. It's really the second book and the third that take place with the adult Alberta in Paris that I find so wonderful, though her childhood book is good too (alberta and jacob). Are you having any luck finding them? Let me know. But I think they should be available used or maybe even from Ohio U. Press.

Andrea and Kim said...

Suki, They are a bit obscure, but I think I can find them. I shared this post with my daughter and she is also interested in reading the series (completely up her alley).

Thanks Suki!

oh what a lovely rainbow stick. She is talented isnt she? I have been so busy with con beng out of action that I havent gotten here lately. Loved seeing the twins below. how fun is that. I would love to see that but they keep more to the River across the street and down some.
Congrats on the awards. How fun. Will come back and check them out more later.

Isn't it great? I do like it a lot. I am a real lover of glass, too. Kate is very talented, you are right!

Dear Cris, I do hope Con is doing better now. It has been quite difficult for you recently. I send you lots of energy to get through all of the healing which needs to happen.

Come back when you can...we are all busy, but you really have had your hands full!

Thanks!
