Feeling Creative?

Yesterday you seemed to like the monoprint I shared, so I thought I would share this test monoprint with you. It is done just on canvas board with acrylics. Like one of the other test prints I showed you it is kept in my studio as I really like this but don't feel the support is high enough quality. I did it a bit differently, however. The canvas board was painted with the dark blue, then some of the lavender color was added with dripping and running before it was lifted onto paper. At that point, the lavender was almost dry and I added the green hue and lifted it again. Finally, I used a red hue for some runs and fill in...you might have to look close for that. Don't you think it looks like coral?

Today, I feel very eager to get into the studio. Several things have kept me doing other things this week, so today is my day! Yippee!

What are you up to today? Feeling creative?

Hi Leah! Thank you...I am kind of a fan of these kinds of colors, too.

Oh, Brain Coral! I had no idea! You can learn a ton of things on these blogs! :)

Thanks so much for your visit today!

Coral, yes,,,,also looks like lily pads in some areas. Blogger isn't allowing me to click & enlarge this one, but I can tell there's awesome texture there!

As for what I'm doing today,,,,making paintskins for some new work, and working on a painting while the skins dry.
Oh, and trying to stay warm,,,,nasty gray day with ice on the way!

Dear Kim, this painting immediately reminded me of the waterworld! Marine plants swaying and ondulating, dancing with the water's powerful movements! Have a great day in your studio!

Ohh Babs! Stay warm out there. I think you are sending your weather this way, too.

Will you tell me more about making the skins? I would love to hear about that process. And I can't wait to see your new painting :)

Mmm, I wonder what is going on with blogger? When I put this up, I thought Babs is going to click on this one to see what all she can here. I am sorry it will not allow that...maybe try again later.

I have never been able to see more than a water element to this particular piece. Thanks Babs!

Ah, thanks Andrea! I am taking a break at the moment to allow something to dry...actually several things. I will head back in a bit later, though. It is lovely to be hanging out in there.

You are right...water it is! I feel the same way! Thanks Andrea!

I love those beautiful intricate shapes and colors and yes it does remind me of coral! Kim, have a great and creative time in the studio, it sounds like your muse is with you tonight! I think that ice is coming our way Thursday night, ugh! It's a good opportunity to get some neat pictures but yikes the possibility of the power going out is not a good thought!

Ah Suzanne, I know what end of the day fatigue feels like. I also understand wanting to feel creative, but some sleep cures that one! Sweet Dreams! And Thanks for visiting.

Lynette, thank you for you generous words! They are greatly appreciated, you night owl! :) Really, ice tonight? I should prepare a bit if the electricity goes out! When that happens I have a computer, but no router! Now that is irritating. And I depend on lights in my studio, too, so it means sketching for me rather than painting. Oh well, it is what must be! Thanks for the heads up, my friend.
