The Tag of Two (or Three) Men...

I have been tagged by Cynthia over at Oasis Writing Link. I am to show you the sixth photo in my sixth file, then I am supposed to tell you a story about it. Are you ready? Here we go...No, this is not the sixth photo in the sixth file on my computer. I do not collect photographs of handsome men. I got over that some years back...about 35 to be exact. This is a photo of my friend, Michael Brenker. Michael is a model based in Hamburg, Germany. He has modeled for some impressive companies like Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bahn, Lufthansa, Nintendo, Olympus, Ravensburger and Volkswagen to name a very few. You can visit his web site to see some great photos and a very long list of companies. Aside from the work Michael does, he is such a sensitive, caring person and a good friend to my family. What does this have to do with the sixth photo in my sixth file?

In the autumn of 2008, Michael was on a two week photo shoot in Mexico. While he was there, he not only had his photo taken about a million times, but he was able to take some photos, as well. So Michael emailed me some of those he took while in Mexico. They were amazing, so I put them in a file on my computer. Voila, the sixth photo in my sixth file is:
Isn't he adorable? When I saw this I wanted to get into this photo, sit and (not) speak with this little one - I do not speak Spanish at all. I wished I could hold him on my lap, and we could look at a picture book together. I just have not been able to get this dear little boy out of my mind since Michael sent me the photo. I just love the expression on his face. Michael said he asked this little boy if he could take the photo and this little guy was more than happy to sit patiently while he got the shot.

So when this came up as the sixth photo, I was very pleased. Of course, I needed to ask Michael as this belongs to him, not me. While I was at it, I thought you just might like to see a photo of the photographer, too. Why not, right? Since Michael's photo is plastered all over, why not on this blog? It also makes a fun story...and a very true one, too!

Visit Michael's web site. He has some really super, fun photos there and you just might get a glimpse of his adorable little boy, too.

So is this a good way to begin your weekend? I am off to the studio here. I hope you find time to be creative where you are. Thanks Cynthia for this fun tag. Anyone who wishes to do this, feel free. Go ahead, see what is in your photo file. Yes, I was supposed to tag people, but making those kinds of choices right now seems a bit overwhelming.

Happy Weekend Everyone!

Hi Kim,
This is a great story about your friend, Michael, I will definitely have a look at his website.
Yes, this little Mexican boy has an interesting expression, a typical little boy planning his next prank!

Thanks Kim. Michael is a hunk for sure. And this little one, with the beautiful wall next to him, is so sweet. Have a great weekend.

Hello Dianne,

Isn't this the cutest little boy? You are right about that expression, but he also looks so cuddly. I think I miss cuddling with my children the most. :) You are going to get to cuddle with a little one very soon, right? :)

Thanks and Have a Great Weekend! You will enjoy Michael's web site.

Love,

Kim

Thanks Suki...

Two adorable men, to be sure! It is funny for me to see Michael in these "working" photos, because I know him as just himself...a regular kind of guy (a good looking one to be sure, but regular).

I just think this little one is the dearest!

Thanks Suki, have a great weekend!

Love,

Kim

yummy he is a dish!the photographer that is. children's faces say it all, don't they? and we complain if we are having a bad 'hair' day. yikes.

Hi Soul,

You know, I said to my husband last night...I would love to say on my blog tomorrow, 'ladies, here is a little eye candy to lead you into the weekend' Then I thought nah, this is only Michael, he is so much more than eye candy (although you all would not know that). Funny!

You are so right, the children's faces say it all. You know, I lived in Texas for 10 years and never went to Mexico. I could not get over what I saw just across the border...it is horribly sad. I mean literally cardboard box villages. I can't even bring myself to visit the resort areas...feels too abusive to me. Parts of the country are incredibly beautiful from what I understand and the culture is ancient...but I can't get past how the citizens are treated.

Thank you, Soul!

The heck with the bad hair days, right?

Love,

Kim

Love the post Kim, and indeed Michael is a handsome man! I spent some time in Mexico and fell in love with the people and culture...it took me a while to learn enough Spanish to communicate well enough. I remember riding in a 75K bike ride from Tacada to Encinidas, I think. When we went through the small towns, children would pass us little handwritten notes. I got one that said, "I'm Joel. I love you." (something like that) The children had such hope and enthusiasm. I also went to an orphanage in TJ around Christmas one year, and I had to set aside my own sorrow to connect with the undefended children there. I genuinely wish for improvements in the quality of life for the average person in Mexico. Reflective and inspiring post, Kim.

Kim I love this post too, how could I not, a handsome AND sensitive (and German:) man and this picture of the little guy looking so sweet, funny and in French you'd say "espiègle" which is like whimsical I guess, the colors around him are great too!
Loved to read this story,
Andrea

Hello Cynthia,

I love how this post brought back such wonderful memories for you. Now that really makes this a wonderful story, doesn't it? Your memories help me to see a different side of the country, I suppose. My husband tells me he can't take me to some places, because it will be too consuming for me. I can't bear the smallest idea of children suffering...or anyone suffering due to the lack of respect for life. I understand what you are saying and have heard it before how there is such hope in the people there. Hope is fabulous, isn't it?

Thank you Cynthia for this tag, it truly was great fun for me.

Have a Beautiful Weekend.

Love,

Kim

Hello Andrea,

I thought of you the entire time I was writing this post...I honestly did. A handsome, sensitive, German man...you know something about them, I am guessing...not to mention the handsome, sensitive, French man :)

Isn't this little one precious? So he is "espiegle" (sorry I have not accent marks on my keyboard)? I love learning that word! Thank you...I can always count on you to help me with my French practice.

Yes, this was truly fun for me, too!

Have a Great Weekend, Andrea!

Love,

Kim

Gorgeous gray hair!
It adds such strength, and personna to a man, I think. I looked at the site, and find it interesting that when not smiling he looks very proper, gentleman-ly,suave,sophisticated and very cool. When he smiles he looks like an ornery little boy, up to mischief!
I suppose we all have our own 'different' selves that come out in our faces.Interesting.
Adore the little boy in Mexico,,,and I too found it hard to see them when I was there,,,the kids. So many selling their pitiful little wares to the tourists,,,and so many just begging.

Andrea and Kim said...

Ah, Babs, you would notice the lovely hair! How insightful of you to pick up that characteristic of smiling and not. He is really fun loving, but very serious about important thing such as being a Papa. It is an interesting observation...I suppose also important in his business.

I can't imagine those children. My husband also has said he can't take me there because I would want to start bringing those children home with me. :) Well, I would care for them and feed their little bellies....most of all I would give them a lot of love. I bet it broke your heart to see them. I suppose with me, it is self-protection to stay away.

Thanks Babs!

Love,

Kim

Amore,

Kim

Hello Gianlucio, I used an online translator to understand your Italian. Unlike Europeans, I am not fluent in any other language but English! :) I am very interested in other languages, so this is good for me.

I am glad you enjoyed the photo of the expressive child. He is quite adorable, I do believe. I will absolutely join your blog. That will be fun. I see you have an automatic translator there!

I hope you visit again.

Love,

Kim
