Unfurling Two Bits Today!

Unfurled
acrylic on 40 x 30 inch gallery wrapped canvas

I unfurl my life for you to see. I lay my soul open, you take what you want, then walk away. I still have more for you.

I want to share something with you about one of our fellow artist. Julianne Richards has had some health issues which have had her hospitalized for three months. As you can imagine this is a tough time for Julianne, and she will be dealing with this issue now. If you have a moment, she explains on her blog and maybe a quick comment would encourage her strengthening.

US readers, I wish you to have a very nice Memorial Day Weekend. Non-US readers, I also wish for you a wonderful weekend...even if it is a bit shorter.

hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend too Kim. That's amazing about your friend. i left a short note. to be in the hospital just lying there for so long! Reminds me of my Dad who had TB when I was about 5 and resided in a hospital for a year i think. they werent even supposed to read, just lie there. nowadays though i guess maybe books on tape would work for a short time of distraction. but for the body to heal, it takes so much focus and energy and none is left for other things. amazing.

Thank you, Suki. I think it will be a lovely weekend.

You are very dear to leave a not for Julianne. What a time she has had. I can't even begin to imagine what it is like to lie there and do nothing. To think of your father being a physician with his brain constantly working but not being able to act on his thoughts is truly amazing to me. I guess when one is so ill, they just need the rest and that is what is right.

Thanks Suki!

Love,

Kim

Beautiful color...intense in a happy way! I will go over and read about your friend from the link you provided. How difficult to be bedridden. Love to you and enjoy your holiday! We have a long weekend in Puerto Rico too! <3

Poor Julianne! I wish her well! I hope you have a great weekend too. We get an extra day too although I'm not sure why! I'm going to be working on my research journal though but I suppose that's fun in it's own way. Helpful at least, consolidating my thoughts and learning about other artists.

Thank you so much Annie! I truly appreciate your thoughts and insights on the painting.

I am glad you are going to check out Julianne! I am sure the well wishes can only help!

Have a Beautiful Memorial Day!

Hi Cynthia!

It is lovely to hear from you and of course I love the good thoughts about my painting. I am obsessed with these colors! :) I just can't imagine what Julianne has been through. It seems overwhelming to be sure.

Happy Holiday, Cynthia!

Hi Fiona,

Is it a Bank Holiday? When we lived there I did not really understand them, but was grateful for the extra weekend day :)

Ah Ha! I would love to talk to you about your journal, although we can do it when you are finished. It sounds truly exciting.

It has to have been brutal for Julianne, I agree!

Have Fun over the long weekend!

Love,

Kim

"unfurled" has this edgy, cristal aspect, and transparency too. It looks whole. Wonderful.
I'll go and leave a comment on Julianne's blog now...

Thanks Andrea! I really like this piece with the almost blossom effect embedded in it! I think the transparent feeling comes from the countless layers of this piece!

Kim

The color you've unfurled here is simply dazzling, Kim. And the sentiment is equally rich.

I'm sorry to hear of Julianne's setback. I'm off to pay her a visit...

Andrea and Kim said...

Thank you, San...you know me and these colors! :) They just keep calling me and calling me. I am trying, though to get to other places. I wonder if I need to move again? LOL

It is sad. I hope she is doing better. I haven't heard from her, but I can imagine blogging is the last thing on your mind when you have been out of the loop for 3 months!

Love,

Kim

Hello Lynette!

Poor Julianne! I honestly can't imagine what she has been through!

I hope all is well down there and you are enjoying your outside time again! :)

This painting is really fun for me, as well...I love working with these acrylic inks as they appeal to my sense of working in think layers.

Thank You, Lynette!

Love,

Kim
