Hiring An Agent...and A Friday Smile

photo provided by The Associated Press

This is Cholla, the painting horse from Nevada, USA. Now I know you have seen other animals who paint professionally, and many of their paintings are similar. I actually think it is rather cool these animals are getting in touch with their creative side. But the thing about Cholla is his painting "Big red Buck" has been selected to exhibit in Italy. In addition, he has also exhibited in New York and San Francisco.

Now I, for one, am very excited about Cholla's success.
Isn't it wonderful he can help promote instinctive art? Now here is what I think is the key to his success...his agent! Yes, I think that since it is a stretch to think Cholla actually does his own marketing one could probably attribute his wonderful success to the agent he hires. Here is my question to you...do you think there is a chance we might band together to hire this agent, too?

In all seriousness, I hope you enjoy your weekend and do visit Cholla's web site. (And note, you might have to scroll the screen to the right to see the sight.)

Cholla is a chump. Well, it couldnt hurt to contact the agent could it. What I think is our cats should band together, maybe a few dogs thrown in, and start up a painting group. That might work. Thanks for the chuckle, Kim and I hope you have a great weekend.

Suki, you make me laugh so much! Cholla is a chump...no doubt about it! And we should get our pets together to begin a painting group...the problem is I don't have any pets other than my husband - does that count? LOL I mean that only in the sweetest way, too.

I thought this would be a lovely way to end the week with a smile! Glad you liked it!

Thanks so much, Suki!

Suki said it all. LOL
Hey I have always said that its ALL in how you MARKET ART. Some good stuff doesnt get noticed and some not so good stuff does, because they DO have a great agent and A gimmick.
So I say LETS GO FIND THIS GUY!!!!!
:)))

Hi Cris, leave it to Suki to find the right words. Isn't she wonderful?

You are totally right about marketing art! I keep thinking, seriously, about art agents...then I think of other things which we might do to market art. The thing is marketing art takes more time than making art...and that irritates me. But it seems as though Cholla has it made...all he has to do is make the art and his agent (owner) does the marketing! umph! I wonder if I can get my pet to be the agent and all I have to do is make the art? I doubt it since he isn't good at that kind of thing and I depend on him for lots of other tasks.

Well, if you have any idea about this guy or other marketing ideas, I am all ears and so is my pet! :)

Thanks Cris! Have a Great Weekend!

It is a nice novelty that animals paint, but it makes me sad with animal art sells for large amounts while Very talanted artists out there are having trouble getting anyone to notice them. A horse can paint, but a human creates art.

Hi Todd,

You are right, it is sad, really. The thing is we have so many SAD ways to see things in life, so I decided this particular subject needed to be seen in a funny way. Also, for me, finding joy in the success of anyone (or any life) only makes my own life better.

I really appreciate your insights here, Todd, and hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Thanks for your visit!

Isn't it funny? But it shows humans may not be the only ones who like to access their creative side. Do you think Oscar might be able to do a bit of painting, too? I think Oscar might do some lively painting...of course you would have to make the choice of medium for him and even choose the colors, etc. :)

Thanks Andrea for your insights!

Let's gang up and kidnap that agent! Maybe he/she will get us an all-expenses paid trip for our group show in Italy. We would have a ball.

Tee Hee San! We sure would have a fun time, there is not any doubt about that issue. You have to admit, an agent who can get a horse's paintings into exhibits abroad and in large US cities must have some good ideas. :)

Thanks San!
