An Opportunity

Today I am stumping a bit, but I promise it is not about US politics.

Do you ever dream of being published or of just sharing what you do with a broader audience? If this sounds true to you, then I have an opportunity for you to consider.

As many of you know I have two really great children (no proud mother here). My son is in undergraduate school in Vermont , and my daughter is in graduate school in California.

A few days ago, I was talking to my daughter, and she shared with me the literary magazine she is co-editor for is looking for submissions from people around the world. I thought maybe you would be interested in making a submission or two.

"The Truth About The Fact" is an international literary magazine focusing on individual truths. No, they are not accepting fiction, they want your memories or black and white photographs or photographs of art work.

You can see what it takes to submit to "The Truth About The Fact" here. And you can read some of the earlier volumes at their web site. In addition, the editors write a blog which is interesting to me and may be to you. And if you want to see what the editorial staff is all about, you can also see a photo of my daughter (I told you I was a proud mother. She is the one sitting at the computer.). And one other thing to consider is the deadline for submissions is December 31, 2008.

If you submit, will you let me know? It is an exciting opportunity if you are interested.

Thanks for indulging me today.

Here is to success!

Oh my. I have always dreamed of writing for publication but alas, the words stay locked in my head.

Art on the other hand, flow out of my hands like water in a babbling brook.

Something to think about !!!!!

I don't know Paula, words sure seem to flow out of you in a lovely way...and I have to agree with you about the art...I love the imagery of your analogy, too...see!

Good Luck with this...only you know if it is the right thing. And the words will come if they are supposed to come.

Hugs~

This is so cool Kim. thanks for presenting this opportunity to us all. Right now my brain feels devoid of words. Esp non-fiction words. But I appreciate your thoughts. I think you are justifiably proud of your two children. I checked out Elizabeth at her computer. She looks great, so pretty and competant. Hope you are well and happy today. best, Suki

Hi Suki,

I know that feeling of being devoid of words...I often feel that way. But you don't have to do words...although you can also submit images. I know you know these literary magazines well. Also you might have something you have written before.

You are so sweet. I just can't help myself where they are concerned. :)

I hope all is well with you, today, too Suki. I am going to run and give your blog a visit.

Hugs!

Hi Kim,
Thanks so much for your wonderful comment on my blog! Your idea of having a "quotes" space on your blog is a fantastic idea - I would be honoured to be quoted! I will look into your opportunity asap. Love Di x

Do look into this opportunity. I think it would be a positive opportunity.

Thanks for your visit, Dianne.

Kim this really sounds great and your daughter looks so pretty and happy, it is a pleasure to see her smile there!
I like the name of the magazine, too and the concept of "individual truth"
Will think about something, together with my talented brother:)
love
Andrea

Hi Andrea,

I am glad you are going to consider this opportunity. And your brother will be a great resource, as well! Great...Elizabeth will be happy to hear this.

I think it is a great name for this magazine, too. We all have our own truths and to give us a venue to share them is great.

Awe, I thank you for your kind words about Elizabeth. She is very special to me, I can tell you that. She is very happy with her studies and her work, and I do think you are right it shows in this photo.

Thanks Andrea. I am eager to see what you submit!

I´m afraid I won´t be of much help here, but I am sure others will.
Great way to gelp her by posting this!
BTW I was in Rotterdam yesterday and I bought the Inktense pencils!
They are great! I tried them yesterday and will show the result later on my blog.
Hope you are fine and your daughter will get many reactions!

Hi Marianne,

I think you have a good insight to what is truth for you - read some of your delightful blog posts. But I completely understand.

Yes, inktense pencils? I think you will enjoy them and find they are good for travel, also...something you understand all too well. :) I am eager to see what you do with them.

All is well here and I am sure posting this very real opportunity here will provide the magazine and artists with some wonderful insights.

Thanks Marianne!
