A Little Hint... and What Would You Like?

Today is my 55th post! Yes, I am a baby in the blog world. I didn't even post for months after the first couple of times. With that in mind, I am here to ask you for some input. But first, no I am not telling your anything about this image today. It is basically a hint! No, not for tomorrow, either! I decided if a writer can give a "teaser", then so can I! :)

So as you all can see, I am not good with internet kinds of things. I don't know how to do things like write HTML or make a link with my writing by saying click "here" and things like that. I don't claim to be good with these things and thank all of you who have helped me get to this place. I kicked and screamed about the blog, but now I am glad I have done it. I have to say I am not getting as much painting done, but I am getting a lot more from the wonderful people I have met so far. So what I would like to ask you now is what kind of things would you like to find when you click in here? I have a few ideas, but I would really like to hear from you what interest you have. Are you interested in what people are reading? Are you interested in mediums? Are you interested in what is going on in art news? Do you want to know about other artists (yes, living ones)? I know there are lots and lots of blogs out there. Some are really, really into the web and the computer. I am not. I am also not good with giving business information. I think you know the kinds of things I can handle.

So tell me, what do you want to know? What do you want me to try to find out for you?

Also, I don't think spell check is working on blogger, so forgive any errors I have here...I am the first to admit I can't spell.

Hi Kim , just wanted to let you know that I love the ricepaper painting, and will be back tomorrow to comment on your question here, which sounds very interesting and demands an interesting answer, which is too much for my sleepy mind right now:) good night and talk to you tomorrow,

Hello Andrea! You have been quite busy, my friend!

Thank you so much for your kind words about the rice paper painting. When you see this thing, though, you are going to laugh! More about that later.

Oh My! It is very late in Paris, now! Okay! I am eager to hear what you have to say about this post. You always have some interesting things to share...thanks!

I think you also might like the photos I just posted...they must be familiar to you! :)

Sweet Dreams!

I can't speak for other readers, but when I revisit a blog, I want to know lots of things. I want to know what an artist is doing and why. I want to know what work they think is successful and what work they think needs work. If an artist admits they threw a piece in the trash, I want to see a photo of the piece in the trash. I enjoy knowing what they read, where they live & what besides making art that they enjoy. If they have knowledge and expertise, I like for them to share it, if not, a good story will do every now and then.

By the way, really like that rice paper technique.

Hello Kim,

First, welcome! Second, I wanted you just to do that...speak for what YOU would like to see here. I am not that great a story teller, but I can give the other things a good shot...well, maybe not tossing things in the trash, but I have been known to paint over old paintings, so maybe that is the same thing. I just don't toss out much in my studio...you never know when it might come in handy! :)

I will be keeping an ongoing list of suggestions made here, so look for some of your thoughts to be expressed here very soon.

Oh, I am glad you like the rice paper painting...thank you!

I hope you will visit again soon.

Hi Kim, well, I guess I'd like to see your brushstrokes, the way you use colour which I love by the way.
I'm looking for the way your "deal" with your being an artist.
I also want to see how your paintings "express" themselves and the things they tell, unspoken, about your feelings. This is what inspires me as an artist, when I come here. So, as a synthesis, I'm looking for inspiration and support from a fellow artist.

Yesterday I found such an interesting quote which would fit in here, I'll try to find it.

PS: The Quote, I found it, it is from Robert Rauschenberg :
Quote: "[There were only five galleries in those days, and the artists really depended on each other socially, psychologically, and even critically. It’s impossible now. Business sure screwed up the art world universally."]
Robert Rauschenberg

I think, artists still depend on each other in this way, but there are so many artists and inspirations out there, I have to find those who can inspire me and for whom I can be an inspiration.
Wow, what a speach, sorry to gobble up so much space here:) LOL

Andrea, I would love to see that quote you found. Placing a quote out there was something I thought might be a positive for each posting.

Your suggestions are very helpful and inspiring. I have written them all down and will address them here. There is also something to be watchful for here. I have had an opportunity which I hope to share with you very soon. So keep watching and some of your suggestions may be addressed faster than you thought.

Thanks so much, Andrea!

Clearly YOU ARE NOT GOBBLING UP ANY SPACE HERE That is what this is all about!

I have to say this quote is very timely! I have been introduced to this idea several times over the last few days and the time has come to explore it!

I am going to open today's posting with your quote, because it is clear to me this is a subject we need to address!

As always, BEAUTIFUL, Andrea! Thank you so much!

This is a beautiful painting,,,swirling peppermint ice cream!
What I like to see in a blog is exactly what you've been doing,,,showing your work,,,talking about technique,,and bringing up ideas to ponder.
An interesting blog,,,,that's why we come back!

Ah thanks! It is going to make you laugh when I pull back from this one!

Ah, you like what I have been doing? That is really sweet of you to say! Well, I will be back to that business on Monday to be sure. I kind of like doing that, too. I guess I just like talking about art! And I have even gotten to showing you yucky stuff. I think I am going to end up showing you some thinking kind of work, too. :)

Thanks Babs!

What a stunning painting, ahh the depth is fantastic in this!! Kim your blog is one of my faves, always interesting and one of my favorite to visit, keep up the great work in blogland, you rock!!

Thank You Lynnette! I am glad you like this painting, but it is really a funny story behind it when I tell you about it next week! So watch this space.

Really? You think what I am doing here is okay? I know it is different from a lot of blogs I visit, but no one ever said I did things like anyone else! Thank goodness. I like the idea of conversations and that works for me, but I also know there are a lot of people who visit here and don't comment. That is what prompted me to ask!

Thanks Lynnette, you have made my day here! Thank you.
