An Award and A Bit Different Creating

The very talented Jess has given me this very nice blog award. She is an abstract artist and illustrator with lots of wonderful work, and she is so prolific with her illustrations. It is a great honor for me to receive this award from such a wonderful artist. If you do not already, please visit Jess to see what she is doing. If you like color, you will not be sorry at all!

The rules for acceptance are:

1) Put the logo on your blog.

2) Add a link to the person who awarded you.

3) Nominate at least 7 other blogs.

4) Add links to those blogs on yours.

5) Leave a message for your nominees on their blogs.

Now for the hard part...my nominees are:

CestAndrea

Chewy

Cris in Oregon

Kate's Corner

Off The Wall Art

Paint, Poems and Ponderings

Second Studio

If you do not already visit these blogs, I highly recommend you give them a look/see as there are some wonderful works of art on each of them.

My summer days here continue to be full of life and art. I hope the same is true for you. I am currently working on another interview for you, too. At the present, my art making has taken a slightly different turn as my daughter is eagerly learning to sew. We are planning a birthday celebration for two this weekend before she heads back to Los Angeles for her studies.

On Friday, I will be sharing a story with you about an adventure with an art supply shop and acrylic medium!

Are you having any fun summer (or winter, for those of you in the southern hemisphere) adventures? Are you so busy you can't find the time to blog about them?

Have a Beautiful Day!

Kim, thanks so much for giving me this award! I went to see Jess's Blog, which I love, and will go and visit those I do not know yet! Thanks so much, I'm waiting for a quiet moment to pass the award on to my blogreaders. I hope you two are having a great time with that sewing!:)
(My hat still is sitting on the shelf in my studio, with the needles in it, LOL, can I come and finish it at your place?:)
love

Kim, so, here it is the comment, I mean your's:) so we haven't to worry anymore where it ended up...

Jess is great, yes, I love her nudes (I don't know how you say that) and her illustrations a lot, so inspired and inspiring, thanks so much for letting us all know about her, here in this open and yet confined cyberspace,
love and take care,
Andrea

Loosing my mind, Andrea! Thanks...at least no more worries! :)

Isn't Jess' work great? Her nudes are really wonderful, I agree...I think you said it just right! She also has some incredible abstracts as her older work...and the colors she uses are amazing, too. She also has an incredible sense of humor in some of her work...did you see the mushroom head?

I am glad you enjoyed it!

Kim you are so sweet. Thank you for this award. I will click on Jess soon. I have been to her blog in the past, I think I read the profie of you on her blog, no? but want to see what's new.

My cable got hit by lightening on Monday night so the internet has been out till just this afternoon, Tuesday, so I am way behind on my netting. I do miss the internet when it is gone, i hate to admit I miss it quite as much as I do.

What fun. Learning to sew. Sounds like you are having good times. NOw, whose birthdays?? Yours and your daughters????? How exciting.

Andrea and Kim said...

Hello Suki, you are so welcome and it is very deserved to be sure! Jess is very sweet, a really wonderful artist and fabulous woman...she is also an amazing mother of 6 (I think)and even grandma!

Oh no, you cable has been out and no internet! I know what that is like. Not only do I miss my blog friends, but I do keep up with some of my family that way, too. Some things are just right being fast, I think.

You know, I have been sewing since I was 9 years old, so my daughter wanting to learn is great fun for me. I always wonder if my son will ever want to learn, too????...he always loved to watch me sew when he was little (I think it was how things fit together).

The birthdays are my husband's and my daughter's...she was born 3 days before his birthday. She will be 22 and he 50! :) Shhhh, don't tell him I told you. He is a bit more testy about that than I am. I say CELEBRATE LIFE....he says he is getting old! LOL Not me, I am getting young!

Thanks Suki!

Well happy birthday to your daughter and your husband. You know, looking back from 62, 50 seems quite young. But i know it is a kind of turning point birthday for some people. Actually I just loved my 50's years.

Andrea and Kim said...

Thank You, Suki! I will give them your wishes.

And I think 50 is young, too...and so far, I am LOVING IT!

Kim, Thank you for the award. How sweet of you. I will post it soon.
How fun that you are teaching your Daughter to sew. I took sewing in school and learned from my Mom too.
Yes this summer is busy here for some reason. But getting lots done so guess it is ok. Best thing so far .. or is it two best things so far. Faster internet speed and insulating the attic. Both help in my creating. LOL
Thanks again for thinking of me for the award and kind words here. :):)

Kim, yes I am having a busy summer and am having less and less time for blogging. Less time than I would like. I seem to finally get to the computer around 9pm each day.
Thank you so much for the award! You are so sweet for thinking of me.

Hi Cris,

You are so welcome! You have a lovely blog which is such fun to read. Thank you for writing it.

My daughter and I are having great fun, and I am feeling good she wanted to learn to sew. Her godmother has given her a new sewing machine which is also a great incentive, but she has really wanted to learn this past year (she needed something as a break from her studies).

Those are two wonderful things to accomplish this summer. I know you are glad you did those.

Again, you are so welcome, Cris!

Andrea and Kim said...

I hear you, Kate! The same is true here, too.

The award is well deserved, to be sure!

Kim,
Thank you so very much for honoring me with this award.

I am very busy with work (the paying one), parties, visiting with neighbors, lounging and making art.

I'll go see Jess's blog and I'll check back with you on Friday.

Andrea and Kim said...

Chewy,

You are so welcome for the award...much deserved!

It sounds like you are busy having a lot of fun! Yippee! I am so glad! Well, I guess I don't know how you feel about the paying work...maybe it is a party! :) I hope so!

Thanks Chewy....

Congratulations, Kim! Such a well-deserved award. And the choices you've made to pass the award to are simply brilliant.

I've been out of blogland for a while. The gallery's been busy and I have houseguests arriving tomorrow. And Monday I am going rafting on the Rio Grande with them!

Andrea and Kim said...

Thank You, San!

And I am glad you like my award choices, too!

You know I understand about being out of blogland. The summer has been really busy for a lot of people.

Hey! Enjoy your guests and the rafting trip. We were in Big Bend a few years back and the Rio Grande was ...well, not very Grande at all. Actually the riverbed rock was totally dry! It is lovely to hear it is raft worthy again! Have a GREAT TIME!

Thanks San!
